Little Fig Bat

After the temperature of the Earth rose by more than 2 °C fig wasps went extinct, which resulted in the evolution of fig bats.

The specific epithet muscipula comes from Latin and means "mousetrap". They are aggressive mimicry of carnivorous plants.

Surpassing Humanity

Millions of years in the future, humanity has become extinct but the impact of the species' actions are still felt in the remnants of pollution and climate change. As the planet slowly recovers, bizarre creatures derived from bats such as the massive Chiroptitan have been spotted.

Have you discovered a new species, mutation, or adaption? Submit the creatures you find to our online research portfolio!
